Fort St. Elmo: Relocation Study

Pakhee Kumar

In November 2011, Heritage Malta commissioned the MSc Sustainable Heritage students to contribute to the planning process of the regeneration of Fort St. Elmo.

We were invited to partake in a relocation study of World War I and Interwar Period artefacts from the National War Museum to a series of vaulted prison cells within the fort, which will form part of a complex of exhibition spaces which aims to piece together Malta’s long military history. I represented the MSc students to present the findings of the study to our client- Heritage Malta. This project received EU funding and is being implemented.
